”Här får en fare ikring som ett spektakel”, tänker Anton tyst för sig själv när han och Alma kör Emil till doktorn för att få ut honom ur soppskålen. Emil själv tyckte bara det var trevligt, det var ju inte varje dag han kom till Mariannelund.
Doktorns mottagning är förmodligen den plats som filmturister i Emils spår mest förknippar med Mariannelund. Många har dock svårt att föreställa sig att scenerna spelades in den här låga industrifastigheten på Norra gatan. På 1970-talet rymde lokalen en klädmanufaktur och de utrymmen som inreddes till väntrum och mottagningsrum var befintliga rum. ”De enda rum som inte behövdes målas och tapetseras om” enligt Olle Engdahl, som sålde färg och tapeter till filmteamet. Både ränderna i väntrummet och medaljongtapeterna i doktorns mottagning känns tidsenliga tillsammans med det stora ekskrivbordet och detaljer som det mörka vägguret, Strindberglampan, väggtelefonen och den vita fjäderpennan.
Totalt spelades tre scener in hos doktorn i Mariannelund. Problemet med soppskålen åtgärdar Emil på egen hand. När han samma eftermiddag återvänder med en femöring i magen blir doktorns kostnadsfria ordination vetebullar. Filmernas kanske mest spännande avsnitt, där Emil tar en allvarligt sjuk Alfred genom snöstorm, slutar lyckligt hos doktorn i Mariannelund.

"Wie ein Clown muss man sich hier zur Schau stellen" denkt Anton, als er und Alma Michel zum Doktor in Mariannelund bringen, um ihn aus der Suppenschüssel befreien zu lassen. Michel selbst fand das alles einfach schön, denn er konnte ja nicht jeden Tag nach Mariannelund fahren.
Der Besuch beim Doktor ist vermutlich das Ereignis, welches Filmtouristen in Michels Spur am meisten mit Mariannelund verbinden. Viele haben es doch schwer sich vorzustellen, daß die Szenen hier in den flachen Industriegebäuden an der Norra gatan gedreht wurden. In den 1970er Jahren befand sich in diesen Räumen eine Kleidermanufaktur und die Räume, die als Wartezimmer und Arztzimmer eingerichtet wurden, waren vorhandene Räume. "Das waren die einzigen Zimmer, die nicht gemalert oder tapeziert werden mussten" gemäß Olle Engdahl, der Farben und Tapeten an das Filmteam verkaufte. Die Streifen des Wartezimmer und die Medaillontapete im Arztzimmer zusammen mit dem großen Eichenschreibtisch sowie Details wie die dunkle Wanduhr, die Strindberglampe, das Wandtelefon und die weiße Schreibfeder waren zeitgemäße Einrichtungen.
Es wurden drei Szenen beim Doktor in Mariannelund gedreht. Das Problem mit der Suppenschüssel löst Michel allein. Als er am selben Nachmittag mit einem Fünförestück im Bauch zurückkommt, ist das kostenfreie Rezept des Doktors, Weizenbrötchen. Der vielleicht spannendste Abschnitt der Filme, als Michel den schwerkranken Alfred durch den Schneesturm bringt, endet glücklich beim Doktor in Mariannelund.

”Here I am, having to run around like a spectacle”, Anton thinks to himself as he and Alma are driving Emil to the doctor to get him out of the soup tureen. Emil himself found the whole thing quite pleasant. It was not every day that he got to visit Mariannelund.
The doctor’s surgery is probably the place most film tourists in Emil’s footsteps would associate with Mariannelund. Many would however find it hard to imagine that the scenes were filmed in this low industrial building on Norra gatan. In the 1970s the premises contained a clothing manufacturer and the rooms fitted out as the waiting room and the surgery were existing rooms. “The only rooms that didn’t need repainting and wallpapering” according to Olle Engdahl, who sold paint and wallpaper to the film team. The stripes in the waiting room and the medallion patterned wallpaper in the doctor’s surgery were both in keeping with the period, as was the large oak desk and details such as the dark wall clock, the Strindberg lamp, the wall telephone and the white feather pen.
Altogether, three scenes were shot at the doctor’s surgery in Mariannelund. Emil solves the problem with the soup tureen in his own way. When, the very same afternoon, he returns with a copper coin in his stomach, the doctor’s prescription – free of charge – is wheat buns. Possibly the most exciting film segment is where Emil takes the seriously ill Alfred through a snowstorm, a journey with a happy ending at the doctor’s in Mariannelund.
